The Cariboo Cattlemen Association (CCA) is putting on a field event!
When: Sept. 18th & 19th 2014
Where: Deer Park Ranch off Moon rd. just west of Williams Lake.
What: The topics discussed on September 18th will include electric fencing equipment/methods and livestock watering devices (for winter grazing). On September 19th Dr. Lauchlan Fraser and his grad student Dan Denesiuk (MSc candidate) will be presenting on soil carbon sequestration as it relates to ranching, and Dr. George Powell will be discussing nutrient management. Please bring your own lunch but dinner will be provided.
MSc student. Kathy Baethke, has been working on a grassland reclamation project in conjuction with New Afton Gold Mine. Producer Sam Numsen spent the afternoon with Kathy and captured a typical days work at the greenhouse. This clip, hilighting the importance of her research, was aired on Shaw TV Kamloops.
